My Life - Original Writing - 1876 Words

We were a normal family of four at first. It was my mom, dad, brother and I. We lived in a little adobe house that they made themselves. I was their first child, the oldest of two. I was born in Mexico and life there seemed simple, but as a child I couldn’t really tell when things weren’t. Things were pretty normal the first four years of my life, I was about to go to school in Mexico and I spent a lot of time with my dad and family. I was really close with my dad, we would go out together a lot, he had a bunch of CD’s in his car and he would play one and we’d sing together, and he would make me breakfast in the mornings while I watched morning cartoons. He was basically my role model in my early days, it was nice too, I really enjoyed it.†¦show more content†¦My dad didn’t come along on the plane ride because he had to stay and arrange some time off at his job, so he came later on, and it was hard saying goodbye even though he would come s hortly after us. At first this was like any normal visit, the plane ride was exciting and in my mind I kept imagining what Michigan would look like. I thought Michigan was just a big dark futuristic house on a pole far away. I thought it would be dark and foggy, but it turned out Michigan wasn’t as gloomy as I’d imagine. When we finally landed it was late and it was really dark out. All of my aunts came there to pick us up and meet us. To me they all looked the same, they all had thick curly hair and eyeliner around their eyes. Our car ride was like no other, all of the neon lights looked so bright and we just kept passing by building after building. We arrived pretty late to my aunt s house where we would stay, I fell asleep right when we got there so I slept soundly until the next day. Michigan was different and all I really wanted to do was impress my aunts. I would help them clean and do dishes, I would just not stop cleaning. I met many of my cousins, all of them spoke English but they could still make out some Spanish. I would be around them a lot and we would play together. When I was with my girl cousins we would just play with dolls and when I was with my boy cousins we would usually play tag or hide and seek. But, once all of us were together they
